Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Part‑Time | Community Mental Health
Location: Baltimore, MD (primarily Montgomery County)
Type: Part‑Time (Maternity Coverage) 3 days per week
About the OrganizationOur partner is a well‑established community behavioral health provider with a 45‑year history of supporting adults facing severe mental illness, homelessness, substance use disorders, and other complex challenges. Their programs emphasize whole‑person, community‑based care focused on dignity, independence, and long‑term recovery.
Role OverviewWe’re seeking a PMHNP to join a multidisciplinary team delivering psychiatric services across outpatient and community settings. You’ll work closely with case managers and social workers, helping clients stabilize, engage in treatment, and reintegrate into the community. This part‑time role covers a maternity leave and may offer future per‑diem opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental status exams
- Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications and monitor metabolic health
- Collaborate with integrated care teams to address social determinants of health
- Conduct crisis assessments and support suicide risk intervention
- Adapt treatment plans for specialized populations, including transitional age youth, deaf/hard‑of‑hearing clients, and justice‑involved individuals
- Support strengths‑based recovery education for clients and families
- Active Maryland PMHNP license required
- Experience with adults with SMI or co‑occurring disorders
- Comfortable with field‑based, community‑centered work
- Strong teamwork and trauma‑informed care mindset
- Highly collaborative and mission‑driven environment
- Impactful work with diverse, high‑need populations
ACT Assertive Community Treatment experience highly preferred.
