The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a leading humanitarian non‑governmental organization committed to restoring safety, dignity, and hope to millions worldwide.
We are seeking interns to support our Intensive Case Management (ICM), Extended Services (ECM), and Services for Older Refugees (SOR) teams in the Baltimore metropolitan area. The role involves working with refugee households, survivors of domestic violence, older refugees, youth, and clients with mental and physical health needs.
Responsibilities- Assist clients with remote transportation arrangements for medical and other appointments.
- Conduct virtual orientation sessions on public transportation, medical appointments, and community resources.
- Document services through case‑notes and case file maintenance.
- Support other duties as assigned.
- Prior experience or strong interest in working with refugees, immigrants, case management, social work, or public health.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and strong problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web‑based applications.
- Fluency in English; bilingual ability in a predominant local language is desired.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; capability to travel across Baltimore.

Duration: 14 weeks (June 8 – Sept 11, 2026)
Hours:
Minimum 15hours per week; 3 days in‑office per week.
- Unpaid position; eligible for university credit.
- Per diem reimbursement: $15 per day (7.5hours).
- Reimbursement for mileage on approved activities.
