Residential Counselor (Full-Time)
Sign-on bonus of $1,000.00 payable in two installments: $500.00 with first paycheck and $500.00 after satisfactory completion of six-month probationary period.
Responsibilities- Assist in planning recreational activities.
- Provide counseling to residents to identify and resolve social or other problems.
- Administer medication, implement treatment plans, and perform household duties.
- Compile records of daily activities, write and submit incident reports.
- Supervise group-sponsored trips and social functions.
- Assess need for and secure services of physician.
- Answer telephone calls, sort and distribute mail.
- Escort individuals on trips outside the establishment for shopping or medical and dental services.
- Plan menus.
- Comply with COMAR, MHP and company regulations.
- Implement resident rehabilitation plans and record appropriate data.
- Record and submit all necessary documentation for billing.
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience working with adults diagnosed with varying mental health and intellectual disabilities.
- Valid driver’s license with less than two points and current automobile insurance.
- Able to obtain DDA medication administration certification.
- Knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work with high‑risk consumers who have mental illnesses as well as developmental and physical disabilities.
- Strong desire to provide excellent customer service, comply with rules and regulations, uphold high ethical and professional standards, and continuously improve professional performance.
- Hourly rate range of $20.00–$20.50.
