Associate Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities

The Associate Director of Student Rights & Responsibilities serves as the primary case manager and outreach coordinator for the Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities (SRR). This position supports the director in developing and implementing student procedures, policies and programs related to conduct, behavioral intervention, civil rights complaints (Title IX, Title VI, etc.), and non‑clinical support case management. The role includes adjudicating policy violations, serving as a liaison between SRR and other campus departments, and supporting campus civil rights response procedures to address student concerns in a fair, equitable, and compliant manner.

Responsibilities
  • Adjudicate policy violation concerns, implement individualized intervention plans, address student behavior issues, and review student concerns.
  • Implement adjudication procedures for alleged Code of Conduct and Academic Honesty violations.
  • Serve in a variety of roles related to civil rights incidents (intake, advocate, investigator, decision maker, etc.).
  • Conduct thorough investigations and respond to concerns in a timely and respectful manner.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality when addressing concerns.
  • Issue interim remedies and actions to address problematic behavior efficiently.
  • Coordinate selection and training of Student Rights and Responsibilities Representatives and other student hearing panel members.
  • Serve as the primary Assist Team case manager and support meeting coordination.
  • Conduct individualized risk assessments and implement intervention plans.
  • Provide coaching for students navigating non‑academic challenges that impact their educational experience.
  • Facilitate the resolution of student concerns with other college departments per established procedures.
  • Develop and disseminate information about internal and external resources available to students.
  • Create a safe and comfortable environment for students, faculty, and staff to engage with SRR services.
  • Provide information to students, faculty, and staff on conflict management, campus behavior expectations, and responding to students in distress.
  • Maintain current knowledge of student conduct, Title IX/VI, students of concern, and student support best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and assess educational publications, programs, and outreach that promote campus behavior expectations and appropriate responses to challenges.
  • Provide recommendations to the director regarding current student policy and processes.
  • Participate in scheduled policy reviews and brief the director on issues affecting behavior policies.
  • Produce reports and analysis regarding campus climate and behavior.
Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree.

Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Counseling, Conflict Management, Education, Legal Studies, Ethical Studies, Psychology, Social Work, Philosophy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in an education‑related environment providing student support services/programs and/or case management in a social services/counseling capacity.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in student behavior response, intervention, and support.
  • Experience with case management and program development, implementation, and assessment.
  • Strong conflict resolution, creative problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Ability to access complex situations, render fair judgment, and maintain ethical and professional standards.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with college administrators, staff, faculty, and students.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply complex compliance requirements.
  • Ability to research, analyze, interpret data, and report findings.
  • Proficiency with technology tools; experience with Maxient preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including prioritization, multi‑tasking, and meeting deadlines while providing exemplary customer service.
  • Understanding of issues impacting diverse populations and demonstrated ability to support individuals with diverse needs.
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
