Primary Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Director of Client Services, the Family Violence Project case manager will provide crisis intervention services that emphasize safety planning, short-term and long-term service coordination, and follow-up to victims of crime and family violence. This position will offer support in connecting clients to vital resources, entitlements and benefits, as well as information about the criminal justice process, victim rights and other victim service programs.
The case manager will provide personal advocacy and legal advocacy, as well as court and medical accompaniment, as necessary. The goal will be to manage the immediate crisis and also lay the groundwork for a more in-depth involvement with the Family Violence Project. This position is a regional position and is expected to travel regularly through central Maryland to other program locations.
Applicant must have Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field. A minimum of one year experience providing crisis services to families and knowledge of and ability to work with persons of diverse backgrounds. Applicant must be able to transport him/herself to other locations and will require a current driver's license, safe driving record, reliable transportation and proof of auto insurance.
