Licensing Specialist; Social Service Administrator III

This Family Center Director position, classified as Social Service Administrator III, oversees licensing, monitoring, and compliance of child placement and residential care agencies contracted with the Maryland Department of Human Services. The role involves conducting inspections, investigating complaints, assessing regulatory compliance, and coordinating corrective action plans to protect vulnerable children from abuse or neglect. The position is located in Washington County Department of Social Services in Hagerstown, Maryland.

• Master's degree in social work from an accredited college or university approved by the Council on Social Work Education
• Seven years of professional experience in a social work capacity, with four years in an administrative, supervisory, or consultative capacity
• Licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners
• Two years of experience in Child Welfare programs (preferred)
• Experience monitoring agency compliance and/or enforcing COMAR regulations in a human service agency (preferred)
• Strong interpersonal communication, writing, and active-listening skills
