About the Job

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Frontend UI Engineer to design and build exceptional user interfaces that bring our products to life. This role plays a critical part in delivering intuitive, responsive, and accessible web experiences that engage our users and support a growing suite of applications. You will work closely with backend engineers, designers, and product teams to translate complex workflows into clean and modern interfaces.

From component architecture to deployment, you will help shape the user experience and ensure our frontend stack is reliable, scalable, and maintainable.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with backend engineers, designers, and product managers to deliver seamless and scalable user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with a strong emphasis on performance and accessibility.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to improving development processes and team standards.
• Work within a containerized development environment (e.g., Docker).

What You'll Bring

• Working knowledge of Ruby, ideally in the context of integrating with Rails or similar backend systems.
• Experience working with Python, particularly for interacting with APIs, data processing, or backend services.
• Experience with Docker or container-based development workflows.
• Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating frontend components with backend services.
• Experience using version control tools like Git in a collaborative environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, iterative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with frontend testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Playwright).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and frontend deployment strategies.
• Understanding of accessibility (WCAG) and internationalization best practices.
• Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand, Vuex).
• Previous experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of past work.
• Experience with mobile app development for iOS and Android platforms.

In-Office Requirement Statement

• We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection.
• This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1 time a week and therefore needs to be in a commutable distance from one of the following offices Boise, Idaho or Baltimore, Maryland
