Mid Level Software Engineer

Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a Software Engineer to support the enhancement, sustainment, and modernization of ground‑based satellite geolocation systems. The ideal candidate will contribute to the full engineering lifecycle—from requirements development through deployment—delivering innovative software‑based capabilities that advance critical mission operations.

• Developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex and diverse software systems (e.g., processing‑intensive analytics, novel algorithm development, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real‑time systems, and business management information systems) based upon documented requirements.
• Contributing to cutting‑edge development programs and designing new solutions.
• Innovating RF signal processing applications.
• Developing analytics, visualization and discovery tools.
• Integrating new and legacy software across a variety of hardware form factors.
• Reviewing and testing software components for adherence to design requirements, documenting test results, and resolving software problem reports.
• Providing input to software components of system design, including hardware/software trade‑offs, reuse of commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS)/government off‑the‑shelf (GOTS) solutions, and requirements analysis from system level to individual software components.

• Experience with Software‑Defined Radio (SDR) programming.
• Experience with geospatial processing.
• Experience coding 2D and 3D image displays.
• Experience with Git Lab, Git Hub, or similar version control tools.
• Experience with Jira/Confluence or similar project management tools.

• Active Security Clearance required.
• Proficiency working in Linux development environments.
• Proficiency coding in Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Seven (7) years of experience in software engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
