Manager, Software Engineering Finance System
We are looking for a versatile technology leader to join our team as Manager, Software Engineering Finance System. In this role, you will provide hands‑on leadership across diverse technology strategic initiatives and focus on delivering high‑quality, scalable, and testable solutions across enterprise platforms.
Responsibilities- Lead software development initiatives across multiple technology platforms and teams, ensuring timely and successful delivery of complex business projects.
- Define and oversee architectural design, technical roadmaps, and best practices for coding, testing, and documentation aligned with enterprise standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define scope, optimize processes, and design sustainable software solutions.
- Actively engage in technical reviews, peer programming, and requirement analysis to ensure quality and alignment with business needs.
- Contribute hands‑on in developing and reviewing technical specifications, design documents, and architecture diagrams.
- Help the leadership team with high‑level cost estimation and clarification of technical implementation of features.
- Track build activities against the project plan, help the team with roadblocks, raise flags and seek leadership assistance as needed.
- Be highly responsive to identified production issues, providing and facilitating timely and effective solutions.
- Act as the technical leader for major upgrades, modernization projects, and system integrations across enterprise platforms.
- Mentor and guide junior or new team members to bring them up to speed technically and functionally.
- 8+ years of progressive, hands‑on experience in software engineering, system design, and application development.
- 2-4+ years of experience in a senior technical leadership role leading development teams.
- Proven experience supporting the architecture and delivery of large‑scale systems, including modernization and digital transformation initiatives across multiple technology stacks.
- Deep practical experience with system integrations, APIs, cloud‑native architecture, and modern development frameworks.
- Hands‑on coding experience in at least one modern programming language, with a strong focus on clean code, testing, and maintainability.
- Solid understanding of security architecture, including authentication/authorization, identity management, API security, data protection, and compliance considerations.
- Experience with ERP or financial systems integration.
- Hands‑on experience integrating with legacy applications, including mainframe‑based systems, and modernizing or exposing them through APIs and service layers.
- Exposure to both product‑centric development environments and enterprise IT landscapes, with an understanding of differing delivery models, governance, and scalability requirements.
Location:
Owing Mills, MD. Salary range: $111,100 - $152,800 annually.
