Senior Consultant, Engineering & Technical Services
We are seeking a senior Consultant Engineering and Technical Services professional with strong front-end engineering skills to support a GSA modernization effort. This role will contribute to the development and enhancement of modern user‑facing applications, support integration with back‑end and AI‑enabled platform components, and participate in ongoing feature development, defect resolution, and modernization efforts. The engineer will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and fellow engineers to deliver secure, accessible, scalable, and maintainable user experiences.
Responsibilities- Contribute to the development lifecycle from implementation through deployment and maintenance.
- Build and maintain responsive, accessible, and user‑friendly front‑end applications that meet modernization requirements.
- Collaborate with back‑end engineers to integrate APIs, workflows, and AI‑enabled platform functionality into the user experience.
- Support implementation of new features, enhancements, and UI improvements aligned with the modernization roadmap.
- Address defects, usability issues, and performance concerns within front‑end applications.
- Translate designs, wireframes, and product requirements into reusable UI components and application features.
- Write maintainable, testable, and well‑documented code following established engineering standards and best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from senior engineers and peers.
- Support front‑end testing efforts, including unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing.
- Contribute to Dev Sec Ops and CI/CD practices related to front‑end development and deployment.
- Troubleshoot application issues across browser, client‑side, and integration layers as needed.
- Ensure solutions comply with accessibility and federal security requirements (e.g., Section 508, NIST SP 800‑53, FedRAMP).
- Fosters collaboration with cross‑functional teams by taking the initiative and driving conversations.
- Coach, mentor, and develop peers that elevate team capability and technical expertise.
- Earn the trust of your customer and teammates by delivering world‑class services.
- Drive accountability and delivery by ensuring project objectives are not only met on time but also aligned with client priorities and standards of excellence.
- Take ownership of risk management by monitoring deliverables across the team, identifying issues early, and coaching teammates on mitigation strategies.
- Shape client engagement and intelligence‑gathering efforts by actively cultivating relationships with stakeholders and providing actionable recommendations.
- Deliver expected outcomes relative to high‑quality code and maintainable systems.
- Offer and implement innovative solutions that include engineering best practices through new tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Lead and align stakeholders with product and project goals that advance customer satisfaction.
- Serve as a trusted advisor in your area of expertise.
- Minimum 4 years software engineering experience with front‑end application development.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- Proficiency with modern front‑end frameworks and libraries (React and NextJS preferred; Angular or Vue acceptable).
- Experience building responsive and accessible web applications using HTML, JavaScript/Type Script, and CSS.
- Familiarity with API integration and client‑server application patterns.
- Experience working with component‑based UI architectures and reusable design systems.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and standard collaborative development workflows.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and front‑end build tooling.
- Exposure to cloud‑hosted or containerized application environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG) is preferred.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and contribute within a modern software engineering environment.
