Description

Leidos has a new and exciting opportunity for a Software Engineer in our National Security Sector's (NSS) Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). The role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining a Data Dictionary capability that provides metadata specification, storage, and access services. The system includes a Java/Spring-based backend, RESTful APIs, and a web-based user interface.

• Develop, maintain, and enhance Java/Spring applications supporting a web-based user interface for creating and managing metadata specifications, a database solution for storing specifications, and RESTful services enabling programmatic access.
• Design and implement backend services and APIs.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical design, and engineering best practices.
• Develop and maintain database schemas, queries, and integrations.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment activities, and operational readiness.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, stakeholders, and system integrators.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required (no sponsorship available).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Four (4) additional years of software engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree, for a total of twelve (12) years of experience.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of software engineering experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in SIGINT, IA, or IT domains.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with modern Java and Spring/Spring Boot development.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and JSON-based web services.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, including PostgreSQL or equivalent technologies.
• Experience working in Linux development environments.
