Active Secret required Overview We are seeking a Software Engineer to join a defense-focused engineering team supporting modern software design, API development, Dev Sec Ops  practices, and real-time/combat system projects. This role is hybrid remote based in College Park, MD and requires an active Secret clearance. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack development experience with React, C++, Java, API development, Linux/WSL, containerized deployments, CI/CD, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities
* Build and enhance frontend user interfaces using React, including hooks, functional components, and state management libraries
* Design, develop, and maintain backend services
* Implement responsive UI components and follow UI/UX best practices
* Integrate frontend components with design systems and backend APIs
* Apply modern software design patterns and UI frameworks
* Develop, test, and deploy code in Linux/WSL environments
* Support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
* Write and maintain automated UI tests
* Collaborate in Agile development environments
* Participate in code reviews and team-based software engineering activities Basic Qualifications
* 5+ years of professional software development experience
* Active Secret clearance required
* Proficiency with C++ and Java
* Hands-on frontend development experience with React
* Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining APIs
* Working knowledge of Dev Sec Ops  practices
* Experience with Agile development, CI/CD, Git Lab CI, Jenkins, Azure Dev Ops, Docker, and Kubernetes
* Experience with automated testing tools
* Comfortable using IDEs and development tools such as VSCode, Eclipse, or Net Beans
* Proficiency developing, building, and debugging applications in Linux/WSL environments
* Practical experience with AWS services
* Ability to work in a hybrid remote environment based in College Park, MD
