Expected salary range: $127,800 to $142,000, varying based on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).
Primary Purpose of PositionLead activities relating to designing, building, testing, implementing, and maintaining AI solutions, products, and processes. Provide IT teams and business personnel with technology solutions by evaluating technology standards, market availability, risks, and benefits to deliver solutions that meet business and IT needs. Coordinate tasks of less experienced engineers and collaborate across teams as needed. Work independently with minimal guidance and closely with scrum masters, project managers, QA, creative, and UX team members to ensure compliance with project needs.
The role focuses on development and improvement of new and existing features, reviewing peers’ code, advocating for standard development methodologies, and participating in an inclusive, energetic, cross‑functional team. It encompasses architecture, design, implementation, and testing to ensure high‑quality releases.
- Engage with business partners to gather information, analyze requirements, and deliver practical, efficient, and cost‑effective solutions that satisfy business needs.
- Ensure all applications adhere to regulatory, cybersecurity, and compliance requirements, including NERC, FERC, Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX), and data privacy laws.
- Design, develop, and/or review complex code or configurations to meet AI solution requirements.
- Develop and/or review project technical architecture design and development.
- Lead engineering team and oversee less experienced engineers; stay on top of latest technologies and trends.
- Engage in BU roll‑up analysis and resource development for annual talent review process.
- Develop applications, including web, mobile, full‑stack, or integrations hosted on premises or in the cloud.
- Develop automated unit tests and/or automated UI tests.
- Enhance knowledge of preferred technologies, methodologies, standards, and policies.
- Use error reports to establish priorities and assign bugs to relevant team members for resolution.
- Assist in developing white papers and conducting presentations to explain recommended technologies.
- Design architecture and develop large‑scale distributed software services and solutions.
- Maintain and enhance technical knowledge and business acumen within the relevant discipline or function.
- Participate in IT architecture review and standards setting.
- Support development of version control principles (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automations.
- Lead peer code reviews; provide strong debugging and problem‑solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems with 5 years of experience, or equivalent experience with 9 years.
- 2 years of experience in AI systems or software engineering related to implementing ML capabilities or applications, including turning requirements into implementation and evaluating architectural tradeoffs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead small to medium teams in delivering software solutions.
- Strong software development capabilities and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Teamwork and self‑motivation skills to succeed in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of operating systems such as Windows, Solaris, or Linux, or cloud platforms such as Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency with software development languages including Python, Perl, C#, Java, JavaScript, Node.js, .NET, HTML, Angular, Swift, Objective‑C, Android, or Xamarin.
