Class A HAZMAT Truck Driver​/Equipment Operator

Role Summary

Hepaco a Clean Harbors company in Richmond, Roanoke, or Baltimore, VA – Rail is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to operate various heavy and light duty trucks and perform driving and non-driving duties on and off customer sites associated with hazardous waste clean-up.

Hourly Range: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour.

All new hires must attend a two-week training academy. Travel expenses are paid by the company and per diem is provided.

• Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers as needed.
• Operate a variety of Class A trucks.
• Loading and unloading of trucks.
• Manual labor on site to ensure fulfillment of customer needs.
• Proper placarding of vehicles to meet company and DOT requirements/regulations.
• Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports.
• Follow all local, state (provincial), and federal compliance regulations and rules.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial), and federal requirements.
• Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures.
• Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Be on call for emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
• Perform site remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.
• Perform physical functions as required by the job.

• Valid Class A CDL.
• Ability to operate a manual transmission.
• Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
• Ability to use various mobile devices.
• Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical as required.
• Meet OSHA respiratory protection facial hair standards for positions requiring respirators.

• Commercial driver experience.
• Previous Hazmat experience.
• Previous manual labor experience.
