Job Overview

Universal Logistics is a leading provider of customized transportation and logistics solutions. We operate 40 terminals and eight container yards and provide chassis, containers, drayage, and services for imports, exports, and domestic moves.

• Operate commercial trucks safely and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of loads.
• Transport goods to assigned destinations within scheduled time frames.
• Maintain electronic or paper logs of working hours, driving hours, and rest periods for DOT compliance.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, incidents, or route changes.
• Ensure accurate completion of delivery documentation (bills of lading, delivery receipts, etc.).
• Follow planned routes while adjusting for traffic or weather conditions.
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery sites.
• Keep equipment clean and report any necessary repairs.

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Class A CDL with at least 6 months of verifiable experience in the last year.
• Clean driving record with a proven safe‑driving history.
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• Strong time management and communication skills.
