Full‑Time Driver, CDL Class B

LocationLoyola University Maryland Main Campus. Remote and hybrid positions are open to applicants in designated states.
Compensation$21.70 – $27.13 per hour

Position Duties- Safely drive students, faculty, and staff around campus and on other required routes.
- Adhere to scheduled routes and provide additional assistance during rush hours.
- Fuel, clean, and maintain buses, including charter requirements and wheelchair lifts.
- Complete all required paperwork clearly, legibly, and on time.
- Maintain courteous teamwork, clear communication, and timely reporting of safety issues.
- Deliver superior customer service by greeting riders, maintaining a comfortable temperature, keeping the bus clean, displaying correct destinations, and using the Double Map GPS system.
- Perform all Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) responsibilities, including daily fueling, cleaning, maintenance, pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, and yearly physicals.
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks.
- Follow campus and CDL regulations for the 14, 25, and 40‑passenger buses.
- Attend monthly driver meetings and complete annual Department of Transportation training requirements.
High school diploma or GED.
Certifications & LicensesCommercial Driver’s License (CDL) with B, P, and Air Brake endorsements.
Work Experience1–3 years of related driving experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- One year of CDL‑B‑P experience with an air brake endorsement and a good driving record.
- Proven superior customer service and defensive driving skills.
- Experience working within a university setting preferred.
- Ability to work independently, think critically, and work a flexible schedule, including charters.
- Experience with similar buses required.
- Must successfully complete driver’s clearance process.
Work requires physical exertion, operation of motor vehicles, and exposure to elements such as dust, fumes, weather, heat, and noise. Exposure to adverse weather conditions may be required occasionally.
