Our headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland is supported by an additional production facility in New Richmond, Wisconsin. Our dredging systems are used globally to protect the environment, maintain safe and navigable waterways, and support economic development through underwater resource extraction.

Position Overview

The Materials Supervisor provides front-line leadership for receiving, inventory control, kitting/staging, material movement, and warehouse organization in support of manufacturing operations. This hands‑on role supervises a small team of materials personnel, sets daily priorities, troubleshoots material flow issues, and provides direct support when business needs require additional coverage.

This position ensures materials are accurately received, stored, staged, issued, and maintained in the ERP system while supporting production schedules, Parts Sales, and New Richmond transfer needs. The ideal candidate is an organized, detail-oriented leader with strong inventory experience, sound judgment, and the ability to coach employees, solve daily problems, and drive continuous improvement in warehouse and material flow operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support materials personnel by setting priorities, assigning work, providing direction, and giving performance feedback.
  • Serve as a hands‑on operational backup for receiving, inventory, kitting, staging, material movement, and warehouse support activities during workload peaks, absences, or coverage gaps.
  • Ensure incoming materials are properly received, staged for inspection, documented, entered into inventory systems, labeled, stored, and reconciled against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Oversee inventory transactions, cycle count programs, inventory audits, discrepancy resolution, and corrective actions to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Coordinate material picking, issuing, staging, kitting, and traveler completion to support production schedules and shop priorities.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, storage discipline, material identification, location accuracy, housekeeping, and 5S standards.
  • Troubleshoot daily material, inventory, receiving, staging, kitting, and transaction issues; elevate barriers when needed to keep production and internal customers moving.
  • Provide backup support for outbound shipping activities when needed, including packaging, labeling, documentation, loading, or coordination support.
  • Lead small projects and continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy, receiving flow, kitting/staging, warehouse layout, material organization, safety, 5S, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure safe operation of forklifts and material handling equipment while maintaining compliance with company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and 5S standards.
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
