Warehouse Supervisor

Overview

This position will directly supervise up to 30 unionized employees on rotating shifts.

• Supervise and coordinate loading/unloading operations. Assign duties and ensure conformance to policies and procedures.
• Maintain a high level of interaction with all associates.
• Enforce company policies and hold employees accountable.
• Maintain a continuous improvement philosophy.
• Picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with the highest possible levels of productivity and following FIFO policy.
• Ensure that shipments are accurate and free of damage.
• Ensure the efficient and safe operation of all material handling equipment.
• Ensure that the work schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are assigned effectively and completed properly.
• Ensure the optimal utilization of space through warehouse consolidation.
• Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Orderly stacking of product.
• Lead operations in a way that promotes safety.
• Assure the integrity of the inventory and assist in conducting physical inventories.
• Produce and analyze reports related to warehouse and distribution.
• Responsible for the security of the building when acting as supervisor in charge.
• Rotating shifts and reasonable overtime (including some weekends) required.

• Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a high volume warehouse.
• 4‑year degree highly desirable.
• Experience in a union environment preferred.
• Experience with consumer product goods / retail distribution preferred.
• Successful communication – written and verbal.
• Ability to establish priorities and multi‑task.
• Experience with personal computers and material handling equipment.
• Ability to understand, produce and explain reports.

• At least 1 year experience working in an industrial setting preferred.
• Must be able to work weekends, overtime and rotating shifts.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
