Family Support Practitioner
Salary: £25,000 per annum pro rata.
LocationBased in our office in Banbridge, County Down, Northern Ireland.
Contract / HoursPermanent/Part‑time, working 22.2 hours a week. Days can be flexible.

A Bit AboutThe Role
As a Family Support Practitioner you will offer support to young carers by providing respite activities, one‑to‑one support, and guidance to young carers and their families. You will signpost to other agencies, advocate on behalf of the young carer, attend meetings, and present information to professionals to highlight the role of the young carer and its impact.
Responsibilities- Adhere to the risk and safety of all children who come into our service and be aware of safeguarding each young person.
- Stay informed about general issues and concerns affecting young people and be open to training if required.
- Attend internal and external meetings as directed by your line manager and collaborate in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies.
- Present information and facts regarding young carers to varied professional groups.
- Keep files up to date in accordance with organisational requirements.
- Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 3 or above, or equivalent/related health, counselling, or social care qualification.
- Experience of direct work/engagement with children and families.
- Good report‑writing skills.
- Good working knowledge of safeguarding.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Registration or willingness to register with NISCC.
- Must hold a UK driving licence as travel is required.
