Roles & Responsibilities
The Strategy Manager is a high-ownership role at the intersection of category P&L management and strategic transformation, responsible for shaping the long-term direction, profitability, and competitive positioning of the category.
This role partners closely with Category, Finance and Sales leadership to drive strategic planning, margin expansion, growth acceleration, and structural capability building.
The position combines structured problem-solving, commercial rigor, and cross-functional leadership to influence high-stakes decisions across pricing, portfolio, channel, and investments
A. Category-level Responsibilities
Industry & Competitive Intelligence
Develop a structured, continuously updated view of market dynamics across pricing, product innovation, channel evolution, and consumer shifts
Build and maintain a competitive intelligence framework covering pricing, promotion intensity, portfolio gaps, channel investments, and go-to-market strategies
Identify emerging patterns, structural shifts, and white-space opportunities ahead of market inflection points
Translate intelligence into quantified business implications, explicitly outlining risks, trade-offs, and recommended strategic responses
Present periodic competitive briefs to category leadership to inform portfolio, pricing and channel decisions
KPI Governance & Business Diagnostics
Own end-to-end tracking of category KPIs including revenue & growth, GM%, ASP, market share, channel mix, inventory health (DOS), and contribution margin
Diagnose performance drivers through structured, hypothesis-led analysis
Translate KPI movements into clear business implications and recommended actions
Proactively flag risk signals and growth opportunities to category leadership
Monthly Business Reviews & Post-Mortems
Lead structured monthly reviews covering Plan vs. Actual across revenue, margins, pricing, promotions, and channel execution
Assess effectiveness of decisions across pricing, schemes, product mix, and channel initiatives
Drive clear “Start / Stop / Continue” decisions with quantified impact estimates
Institutionalize learnings into playbooks and future planning cycles
B. Strategic Projects & Capability Building
Support long-term strategic and capability-building initiatives for Xiaomi India
Partner with category, strategy, and finance teams on high-impact projects on projects such as new business growth, special initiatives to increase revenue/profit, cost-of-doing-business
Candidate Requirements
5+ years' experience in category management, revenue operations, corporate strategy, or consulting with demonstrated execution ownership
Proven ownership of business outcomes and P&L-linked metrics (revenue, margin, mix, ROI), beyond reporting or analytical support
Strong experience leading monthly business planning cycles, forecasting, and performance governance
Demonstrated commercial acumen including pricing strategy, margin optimization, and ROI evaluation of growth initiatives
Advanced capability in financial modeling, scenario analysis, and data-driven decision framing (Excel proficiency required; SQL/BI exposure preferred)
Structured, hypothesis-driven problem-solving mindset with ability to simplify ambiguity into clear decision frameworks
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across Category, Finance, Sales, and Operations without formal authority
Strong executive communication skills with experience delivering board-ready or leadership-ready narratives
High ownership mindset with comfort operating in fast-paced, imperfect-data environments
