Position Summary
The Senior Manager, Costing Excellence is responsible for leading the execution of costing strategies, managing the costing team, and driving operational excellence across apparel categories. This role works closely with Product Development, Merchant, Sourcing and cross-functional partners and suppliers and ensures data-driven decision-making to optimize cost and support Walmart’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Execute Costing Strategies:  Implement costing frameworks and methods ensuring alignment with department goals and profitability targets.
Cost Analysis and Reporting:  Oversee day-to-day cost analyses, transparent and should-cost benchmarking, and reporting for assigned apparel categories, translating insights into actionable recommendations.
Support Supplier Negotiations:  Collaborate with Sourcing to gather data and support negotiations, ensuring compliance with established cost targets and standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing, and other cross-functional partners to facilitate product launches, margin improvement, and cost optimization initiatives.
Drive Continuous Improvement:  Identify opportunities for process enhancements in costing operations, contribute to the development of new tools, and implement best practices.
Monitor Market Trends:  Track and report on changes in raw material prices, supply chain, and manufacturing costs, providing timely updates to the Director and business partners.
Lead Costing Team:  Manage, coach, and develop a team of Costing Analysts fostering professional growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications
Master or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Industrial Engineer, Supply Chain, Fashion Merchandising, or related field (MBA preferred).
7+ years’ experience in costing, sourcing, or supply chain management within apparel/fashion retail with additional experience of manufacturing operations.
Strong analytical skills with expertise in cost modeling, negotiation, and data-driven decision making.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Demonstrated experience leading teams and executing operational strategies
Strong analytical skills and experience with costing tools and methodologies
Deep understanding of global sourcing, supplier management, and fashion industry trends.
Strong AI and technology orientation, with advanced digital analytical skills.
Proven negotiation and communication skills across diverse stakeholders.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
Project management and planning expertise.
