Position Summary
The  Assistant Manager – Impact Assessments  will play a critical role in strengthening  impact assessment, measurement, and organisational learning  across United Way Bengaluru’s programmes and CSR initiatives.
The position will lead efforts to  design and implement impact measurement frameworks , generate  credible evidence of programme outcomes , and translate programme data into  actionable insights, impact narratives, and donor-ready knowledge products .
This role goes beyond routine monitoring and focuses on  outcome tracking, impact evaluations, theory of change alignment, and evidence-based programme improvement . The incumbent will work closely with programme teams, partners, and external evaluators to ensure that  impact measurement is systematic, credible, and aligned with global development standards and CSR expectations.

Key Responsibilities

A. Impact Assessment, Measurement & Evidence Generation (≈70%)
Lead the  design, planning, and execution of impact assessments  across thematic programmes and flagship initiatives.
Develop  Impact Measurement Frameworks  aligned with programme  Theory of Change (ToC) ,  Logical Framework Analysis (LFA) , and donor requirements.
Prepare  comprehensive impact briefs  for all impact-eligible projects by consolidating programme evidence, data, documentation, and field insights.
Define and track  output, outcome, and impact indicators , including  attribution and contribution analysis  where applicable.
Design and coordinate  baseline, midline, and endline studies , as well as thematic evaluations and needs assessments.
Work with programme teams and external experts to ensure  methodological rigour in data collection, sampling, and analysis .
Analyse and synthesise  quantitative and qualitative data  to generate actionable insights, impact findings, and programme learning.
Develop  impact stories, case studies, and learning briefs  to demonstrate programme effectiveness and community transformation.
Support  Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis ,  SDG mapping , and other evidence frameworks used by CSR partners.
Facilitate  learning and reflection workshops  with programme teams to translate evidence into programme improvements and adaptive management.
Contribute to  organisation-wide knowledge products , including impact reports, annual reports, and best practice documentation.

B. Monitoring & Evaluation Systems Strengthening (≈30%)
Strengthen and standardize  Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems, tools, and processes  across programmes.
Support development of  programme monitoring plans , indicators, and structured data collection frameworks.
Work with programme teams to refine  MIS systems, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms  for real-time programme monitoring.
Conduct  periodic programme reviews and concurrent monitoring  to ensure data reliability and programme accountability.
Support programme teams in improving  data quality, documentation practices, and evidence generation .
