Description

The Associate Director for Institutional Effectiveness & Operations supports the mission of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness by coordinating office operations, institutional research activities, project management, curriculum processes, and administrative functions that advance institutional effectiveness. Working collaboratively with academic and administrative units, the Assistant Director serves as the primary coordinator of office workflow, reporting activities, institutional research support, committee operations, and strategic initiatives while providing support for institutional assessment and accreditation activities.

Example of Duties

Office Operations & Project Management:

* Coordinate day-to-day operations of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.

* Manage office workflow, calendars, project timelines, and departmental priorities.

* Coordinate meetings, agendas, minutes, committee support, travel, and logistics.

* Develop and maintain project management systems and tracking tools.

* Maintain documentation, evidence repositories, departmental procedures, and shared resources.

* Coordinate faculty workshops, training sessions, and office events.

* Monitor project milestones and communicate progress.

* Support strategic initiatives and institutional committees.

* Maintain departmental website and communication materials.

Institutional Research Support:

* Assist the Director of IR with institutional research projects through data collection, validation, analysis, survey administration, and reporting.

* Develop dashboards and recurring reports.

* Assist with benchmarking and external reporting.

* Support preparation of presentations and reports for university leadership.

* Collaborate with departments to gather and validate institutional data.

* Support KPI reporting and strategic planning metrics.

Assessment & Accreditation Support:

* Assist the Executive Director with institutional and specialized accreditation activities.

* Coordinate assessment reporting cycles and maintain assessment documentation.

* Support evidence collection for accreditation and program review.

* Assist with substantive change proposals, annual reports, and accreditation visits as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

* Master's Degree required, Doctorate preferred.

Experience:

* A minimum of 5 years of experience in higher institutional research (or parallel field) is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:

* Work effectively and to communicate complex research designs and results with a wide range of professionals including top administrators, trustees, professional staff including information technology staff, and faculty is essential.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills involving the presentation of both quantitative and qualitative material and analyses.

* Experience with higher education electronic record management systems.

* Ability to perform duties independently with limited supervision.

* Proficiency with of a variety of software packages including Google Drive and Applications and Microsoft Office Suite;

* Experience with the accreditation process and familiarity with learning outcomes assessment.

* Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

* Knowledge of culturally-responsive, social justice pedagogy and a commitment to reducing equity gaps and systemic barriers in learning.

* Demonstrated ability to provide and develop new workshops as needed.

* Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a leadership team.

* Experience providing a post-secondary academic support services program for adult learners.

* Excellent written and oral communication, as well as strong presentation skills

* Project management experience

* Demonstrated understanding of uses of technology for multimodal learning
