Description

The University of New England College of Dental Medicine invites applications for part-time adjunct clinical track positions with a primary focus on pediatric dentistry at the Assistant Clinical Professor rank. The DMD program operates year-round, and qualified candidates must have availability to work across all three semesters (June–May). The college is currently seeking applicants to work during the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters.

Located on UNE’s Portland Campus for the Health Sciences, UNE CDM is the only dental school in a region where access to quality oral healthcare is a persistent challenge, especially in rural areas. Responsibilities

The faculty member will serve in the Department of Clinical Comprehensive Care or the Department of Department of Preventative, Pediatric, and Community Dentistry. Core responsibilities will include clinical or simulation instruction in general dentistry with a primary focus on pediatric dentistry during the summer, fall, and spring semesters (year round).

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a D.D.S./D.M.D. degree, or international equivalent and have successfully completed the NBDE Parts I & II or the INBDE and a regional licensure examination (e.g. ADEX ). By the position start date, the candidate must have completed a CODA
-accredited graduate program in Pediatric Dentistry and must be Board Certified, or eligible for Board Certification, as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Candidates with a broad scope of clinical experience (and/or completion of additional training) in pediatric dentistry will also be considered. Qualified candidates must possess a D.D.S./D.M.D. degree, or international equivalent and have successfully completed the NBDE Parts I & II or the INBDE and a regional licensure examination (e.g. ADEX ).

By the position start date, the candidate must have active Maine Board of Dental Practice licensure (full).
