When a candidate is found
- To create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth
- Ability to communicate with staff members, pupils, and parents
- Become an active participant of the second‑grade team
- To develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge in accordance with each pupil's ability
- Establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students
- Teach reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, and science, while supporting art, health, physical education, and music instruction to pupils in the classroom, utilizing curriculum adopted by the Bangor School Department and other appropriate learning activities
- Maine certification as an elementary teacher
