Overview
Husson’s College of Business is seeking to build a pool of qualified candidates for future part‑time teaching opportunities in criminal justice. Assignments may require teaching day or evening classes as needed. This position is for face‑to‑face instruction; instructors are expected to be on campus.
Courses to be Taught- Introduction to Justice and Public Safety
- Criminal Procedure
- Police Operations
- Management and Criminal Justice
- Corrections
- Juvenile Justice
- Teaching courses in the fall and/or spring semesters in the School of Legal Studies in a classroom setting
- Assisting and supporting students beyond the classroom by holding regular or virtual office hours as needed
- Working collegially with other faculty in the area to develop and use common syllabi, course materials, and assessment methods
- Using instructional technology, especially the Canvas LMS, Husson G‑Suite applications, and the faculty portal
- Assessing and reporting student performance
- Education: An earned Master’s Degree in criminal justice or a related field is required;
Ph.D. preferred. - Experience: Successful teaching experience at the college level preferred. Demonstrated dedication to improving classroom teaching, exploring new methods, and adapting to student needs. Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team.
Undergraduate Course – Masters Prepared: $933.33 maximum per credit hour.
Undergraduate Course – Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour.
Graduate Course – Masters Level Prepared: $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour.
Graduate Course – Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: $1,100.00 maximum per credit hour.
The employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
