Part-Time Adjunct Faculty Pool in Biology
The College of Science and Humanities at Husson University invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty pool in Biology. This posting will remain open for up to one year to build a pool of qualified candidates who may be considered for future teaching opportunities as departmental needs arise. The Biology program serves students pursuing careers in the biological sciences, healthcare professions, medicine, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, and related fields.
We seek educators who are committed to student-centered teaching and helping students develop scientific knowledge, laboratory skills, critical thinking abilities, and an appreciation for the biological sciences. Assignments may include day or evening courses and are expected to be delivered on Husson University's Bangor campus.
Adjunct instructors in Biology may be considered to teach lecture and laboratory courses in the following areas:
Additional teaching opportunities may arise within the Biology curriculum. Applicants are encouraged to indicate areas of expertise, teaching interests, laboratory experience, and any specialized areas of biological science.
An earned Master's degree in Biology, Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Environmental Science, Anatomy and Physiology, or a closely related discipline is required. A PhD or other terminal degree is preferred. Successful college-level teaching experience is preferred. Experience teaching laboratory courses and supervising student laboratory work is desirable for instruction in laboratory courses. Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific concepts effectively to undergraduate students.
Commitment to providing engaging, inclusive, and student-centered instruction. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to support common course objectives, assessment practices, and student success initiatives.
Work is generally performed in a classroom, laboratory, clinical, online, office, or other instructional setting.
