Guidance Counselor
Abraham Lincoln School is seeking a compassionate, student-centered Guidance Counselor to join our supportive and collaborative team. The successful candidate will provide individual and group counseling and deliver social-emotional support to students. Key responsibilities and skills include providing individual and group counseling to support students' social-emotional development, collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff to address student needs, supporting positive behavior interventions and school-wide social-emotional learning initiatives, and promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills. Qualifications include a valid Maine School Counselor Certification, experience working with students in elementary, middle, or high school settings, a strong understanding of social-emotional learning, adolescent development, and counseling best practices, and the ability to teach SEL classes.
