Qualifications- Proof of Educational Technician III or Teacher Certification and CHRC approval through the Department of Education is required.
- Certification as an ESL teacher, Certificate 660, preferred.
- Experience providing instruction for English Learners preferred.
The Bangor School Department is currently accepting applications for English Language Learner (ELL) tutor positions for the school year. ELL tutors work with the population of students who are English Language Learners supporting students who require specialized instruction in English.
Additional Information- Tutor is a temporary part-time position with the district.
- Allows for flexibility in scheduling.
- Work one-on-one or with a small group of students.
- Implement instruction in a variety of subject areas with materials provided and organized by the classroom teacher and/or ELL teacher.
- Communicate with teachers regarding student progress.
- Provide weekly student updates.
- Introduce new learning, pre-planned in collaboration with the classroom teacher and/or English language learner teacher.
- Review and reinforce learning previously introduced by the teacher(s).
