Position: Anticipated FY27 Middle School Mathematics Teacher

Middle School Mathematics Teacher

RSU 3 is seeking an enthusiastic, student-centered, and certified Middle School Mathematics Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the RSU 3 mathematics curriculum while creating a supportive, engaging, and challenging learning environment for all students. The teacher will provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including students who require additional support in mathematics as well as students ready for advanced challenges and enrichment.

We are seeking an educator who will:

  • Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction aligned with the RSU 3 Math Curriculum.
  • Differentiate instruction and learning experiences to support struggling math learners while providing appropriate challenge and extension for advanced students.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to succeed.
  • Build strong relationships with students and foster confidence, perseverance, and a growth mindset in mathematics.
  • Use assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual learning needs.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and support staff to promote student success.
  • Maintain high expectations for all students while recognizing and responding to individual strengths and needs.

Qualifications:

  • Current Maine certification in Middle School Mathematics or 7-12 Mathematics.
  • Strong content knowledge in mathematics and effective instructional practices.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction and a commitment to meeting the needs of diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for helping middle school students develop mathematical understanding, confidence, and a desire to learn.
  • Valid CHRC (criminal history records check) or ability to obtain.
