Special Education Teacher, Early Childhood Education

The Special Education Teacher is an experienced member of the Watch Me Shine team and specializes in education and early intervention services. The Special Education Teacher will work closely with other Special Education Teachers, Clinicians, Classroom Teachers, and the Center Director.
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing student’s programs, treatment plans, progress, classroom management, curriculum, and teacher supervision. It is the role of the Special Education Teacher to ensure all areas of learning and development are being addressed.
The Role
- Conducts assessments of students to create comprehensive treatment plans, progress reports, and programs. Ensures ITP’s, Progress Reports, Daily Notes, etc. are comprehensive, professionally organized, individualized, and up to date for all clients.
- Coordinates, leads, attends, or directs intakes and team meetings in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintains accurate and complete student records, due date logs, supervision logs, client communications, etc. to ensure paperwork is completed and recorded in compliance with state and federal rules and regulations.
- Ensures a continuous flow of communication between classrooms, teachers, and team to ensure quality standards are being met.
- Cultivates, models, and enforces a respectful, professional, collaborative environment.
- Supports teachers with programming and classroom management to ensure they maintain a consistent level of provided service within each classroom.
- Ensures student programs are delivered in a comprehensive and individualized manner. Assesses student progress monthly.
- Works with Foundations, Inc to ensure curriculum is implemented properly and we are maintaining program fidelity.
- Master’s Degree or 282 Teachers Certification,
- Two to three year’s experience preferred,
- 282 teacher certification through Maine DOE
