We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to manage all engineering/maintenance operations at Quality Inn Bangor. This includes maintaining the building, grounds, amenities, equipment, and physical plant with particular attention towards safety, security, and asset protection.

This is a Full Time position located in Bangor, ME.

• Supervises the day-to-day operations of Engineering team
• Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities in order to determine the type of work required, and establish priorities for total property maintenance needs
• Supervises onsite team, including ability to execute departmental and property emergency procedures
• Ensures on-going communication occurs in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives, awareness of expectations and recognition of exemplary performance
• Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment
• Assists in managing the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems
• Maintains and operates equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety
• Establishes and manages an effective rooms maintenance program
• Manages department's controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals
• Ensures compliance with all Engineering departmental policies, standards and procedures
• Select and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings
• Maintains accurate logs and records as required
• Handles guest problems and complaints effectively

• High school diploma or GED
• 4 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area
• Technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major
• 2 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area
• Technical training in HVAC-R/electrical/plumbing

• Previous experience in a managerial role overseeing a team, preferably in hospitality
• Ability to communicate accurately and effectively in verbal and written form across departments
• Ability to understand and provide excellent customer service
• Maintain a friendly, courteous demeanor at all times
• Must be responsible and be able to work independently
• Ability to learn applicable systems and follow corporate procedures
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
• Ability to lift/push up to 75+ lbs
• Must be able to work onsite at the hotel location
• Hours required:
  Full Time 36-40 hours per week for AM;
