Position: RESIDENTIAL COUNSELOR

Overview

We design diverse and innovative programs that provide a high level of structure within communities of care when a person or family is in need.

Finson Road is a placement for older adults, with prolonged mental health issues. Our residents require support and encouragement to remain as independent as possible.

Responsibilities

The Direct Care Counselor must possess skills to oversee and organize their shift, provide care management, supervise and assist in the development of skills and fostering abilities, in addition to providing nurturing support and direct care to our program participants.

Qualifications

An associate’s degree in human services or a related field would be preferred; however, equivalent experience is also acceptable. It is important for candidates to have the ability to recognize each of our clients’ uniqueness, needs and desires. Candidates must be flexible, possess the ability to multi-task, and have a willingness to learn the clinical issues of individuals with mental illness, as well as the cognitive deficits and multiple medical conditions that accompany the individual during the aging process, more importantly how these work together.

Education

Required:

High School or better. Preferred:
Bachelors or better in Human Services or related field.

Travel Required

Yes. Possible day trips, occasional travel for trainings and meetings
