Pharmacist in Charge | Penobscot Community Health Center, Bangor, Maine
Penobscot Community Health Care is seeking a Pharmacist in Charge to serve in our busy pharmacy location at Penobscot Community Health Center in Bangor, Maine. Work with passionate, integrated care teams providing high-quality care and services, modeling kindness, dignity, and respect to all. This is a robust opportunity in a nationally recognized Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).
The position is planned for full-time 40 hours per week, generally four 10-hour shifts.
Monday - Thursday
Highlights of the position include:- Supervises the dispensing of prescription medications
- Maintains inventory control over OTC and prescription medications
- Performs Pharmacist in Charge responsibilities defined by Maine Board of Pharmacy
- Performs supervisor role for pharmacy technicians
- Ensures compliance with in-house 340B program
- Serves as a clinical resource for clinic providers
- Acts as a preceptor for our Pharmacy Residency Programs
- Works with other PICs, Pharmacy Operations Manager, and Executive Clinical Director of Pharmacy on new initiatives and day to day operations
- Other related duties as assigned
- FQHC with integrated Medical Home Model
- Embedded Behavioral Health, Recovery Treatment, Pharmacy, Lab, and Infusion

Penobscot Community Health Care: PCHC is a non-profit organization governed by a board of volunteers. It's comprised of sixteen practices and program service sites in the Greater Bangor area, in Brewer, Old Town, Belfast and Jackman. We offer a wide range of services including family medicine, dental, pediatrics, geriatrics, mental health and recovery treatment, specialty services, pharmacy and both shelter and healthcare for those experiencing homelessness.
