Cybersecurity Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join our team supporting Base Infrastructure Modification (BIM). The role focuses on protecting classified and controlled unclassified information for the Department of Defense.

• Implement, maintain, and audit RMF processes and artifacts.
• Conduct STIG compliance audits, vulnerability assessments, and ACAS scans with remediation.
• Develop and track POA&M, Security Assessment Plans (SAP), and Reports (SAR).
• Coordinate Authorization to Operate (ATO) and Authorization to Control (ATC) activities with the base Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
• Manage cybersecurity incident reporting pursuant to DFARS .
• Implement continuous monitoring programs and NIST 800‑53 security controls.
• Support CORA and cyber inspections and manage CUI and classified information protection.
• Respond to IAVAs, TCNOs, and TASKORDS and coordinate with counterintelligence agencies.
• Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and related regulations.

• Five (5) years of DoD cybersecurity experience with RMF expertise.
• Expertise in RMF/ATO processes, DISA STIG implementation, and NIST 800‑53 controls.
• Experience with ACAS/vulnerability scanning and eMASS system operations.
• Proficient in security assessment methodologies (NIST 800‑30, 800‑115) and POA&M management.
• Must possess an active Secret clearance.
• Understanding of DoD-I 8500.01 and 8510.01 policies.

• Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

• Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture.
• Understanding of TEMPEST requirements.
• Experience with supply chain risk management and cloud security.
• Familiarity with continuous monitoring tools and incident response.
