Manufacturing Engineer, Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma
9+ month contract with potential for direct hire
Responsibilities- Develop, update, and maintain CNC programs using MastercCAM supporting multi-axis milling, turning, and grinding operations.
- Validate and simulate CNC programs prior to release on production equipment using verification tools like Vericut.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to provide CNC technical expertise, and assist with training operators during equipment launches, rebuilds, and process optimization efforts.
- Deliver day-to-day CNC troubleshooting and programming assistance directly to production personnel on the shop floor.
- Assist in the selection, setup, and integration of tooling and fixturing solutions for CNC machining applications.
- Create and maintain standardized work instructions and machining methods related to CNC processes.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing safety, quality, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.
- Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams to ensure alignment and timely resolution of production or technical issues.
- Function independently as well as within cross‑functional, matrixed teams to support operational objectives.
- Adapt to a dynamic, high‑paced manufacturing environment while driving and supporting organizational change initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution, or a high school diploma/GED combined with at least 2 years of relevant manufacturing or operations experience.
- Minimum of 2 additional years of experience in a manufacturing or production‑related environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues.
- Experience documenting processes, planning work activities, and executing structured programs or projects.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Hands‑on experience with CAM software such as Mastercam, Siemens NX, Esprit 2000, or similar; exposure to CAD tools like Inventor or NX is a plus.
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
