Job Summary

The Bangor Site Lean Leader will provide both strategic and tactical support within the Bangor Manufacturing facility in developing and sustaining a Lean Roadmap aligned with business imperatives. The role involves working with Plant Leadership to advance a customer‑based process improvement strategy that drives safety, responsiveness, lead‑time reduction, and quality improvement in line with functional objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach site leadership to create the Lean vision and develop a Roadmap aligned with GE Vernova and Gas Value Stream target conditions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Value Stream Lean leader and external coaches.
  • Use GE Vernova lean training guides as both methodology and tool for improvement.
  • Lead Lean implementation at the plant and drive cross‑functional results.
  • Become the plant’s Lean expert through hands‑on experience in internal and external Kaizens plus self‑education.
  • Lead and develop Lean facilitators; build and develop a "moonshine" team and shop.
  • Support early integration of Lean principles in product design and process development for New Product Introductions.
  • Apply methodical problem‑solving methods (PDCA, 5

    Why, RCA, etc.) and partner with leadership to drive OEE improvement through BiQ, Zero Defect Framework, Daily Management, Standard Work, Flow, and TPM.
  • Organize and lead the monthly operating review to review and act on relevant SQDC KPIs.
  • Develop value‑stream maps and eliminate process waste via Lean techniques.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events focused on SQDC objectives, including pre‑work and scoping, training, materials preparation, coaching during events, and follow‑up rhythms (monthly sustainment audits).
  • Train site staff on Lean concepts and mentor employees using Lean tools.
  • Prepare Lean review presentations and present to executive business leaders on Lean business reviews.
  • Adhere to EHS and Quality requirements and encourage a culture of stop‑work for abnormalities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in Lean deployment and driving changes in a production shop floor through strategic projects.
Desired Characteristics
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Ability to develop and motivate a high‑involvement team through commitment to meeting customer and organization demands.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing management disciplines such as production and inventory control, quality management systems, and standard cost systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of products, processes, customer requirements, and budgeting/financial processes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to process improvement and the GE Vernova Way.
  • Formal Lean training or certification.
