This position is primarily based at our Bangor location and operates under a hybrid work model, combining remote administrative duties with in-person responsibilities in the community, including collaboration with partner organizations and meetings with clients.

Join our Family Enrichment Team! Now hiring a full-time Project Coordinator to lead efforts in our Juvenile Restorative Justice program. As the Project Coordinator, you are responsible for the coordination and primary delivery of the Juvenile Restorative Justice Services Program, including facilitation of program referrals.

This position is primarily based at our Bangor location and operates under a hybrid work model, combining remote administrative duties with in-person responsibilities in the community, including collaboration with partner organizations and meetings with clients.

What is the Restorative Justice Program – The Restorative Justice program is an intervention and prevention-based program that offers a restorative approach to incidents of harm for juveniles in Penobscot, Piscataquis and Somerset County. The process provides opportunities for youth to take accountability for their actions in a supportive space, understand the impact on others and the community and be part of the process to make things right.

Responsibilities
  • Review referrals from the Department of Corrections as well as community-based referrals and work with the Division Manager to assign case facilitators.
  • Coordinate and facilitate restorative programming.
  • As a lead facilitator, you will reach out to the referral source, the referred youth/parents/guardians, and all other parties impacted by the incident to engage in services.
  • Represent the program in the community and conduct community outreach, for referral purposes, to provide knowledge of restorative process to build program capacity.
  • Support outreach efforts to engage the community in Penobscot, Piscataquis and Somerset County.
  • Participate in team meetings, case reviews, regional partner meetings, individual supervision and FES department meetings.
  • Comply with all assigned program and contract requirements, including data tracking, reporting and quality assurance standards.
Requirements
  • Associate’s degree and 2-3 years of experience volunteering and/or working with and for young people, specifically in the areas of self-advocacy, youth development, youth leadership or direct social services.
  • Experience working with teens or at-risk youth; and experience with family systems.
  • Computer proficiency and experience, including word processing skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills demonstrated by work within the community which included facilitation and training.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable, insured transportation.
  • Completion of facilitator training or ability to complete required training.
  • Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.
