Pediatric Psychology (PEDS PSYCH) Behavioral Health Nurse position located in Bangor, Maine. This role involves providing specialized medical and psychiatric care to pediatric and adult patients in a secure Behavioral Health facility. The selected candidate will be responsible for implementing de-escalation techniques, administering medication passes, and supporting patient care activities. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

- Required Qualifications:
Valid Maine State License, certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS); minimum of 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience;
Pediatric Behavioral Health experience preferred; experience with de-escalation methods and physical restraints; proficiency with medication passes, documentation, and group facilitation; support on the unit may include acting as Charge Nurse, with availability of Nurse Supervisor and Nurse Manager; EMR system used is Cerner. - Schedule:
36 hours per week, with 12-hour shifts scheduled for the second week. First week comprises daytime shifts (Monday-Friday). - Float:
Floating is required between all units, including adult and pediatric sections. - Additional Information:
Orientation includes a week of facility and unit training. Traveler may have opportunities to act as Charge Nurse; staff support includes Nurse Supervisor, Nurse Manager, and House Administrator. The unit has on-site providers such as Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, and contracted Phlebotomists. A scenario-based de-escalation training program is provided biweekly, and MOAB (Management of Aggressive Behavior) training will be reviewed on site.
Travelers are expected to work on a rotating holiday schedule and participate in modified self-scheduling for shifts. No guaranteed block scheduling. Heavy snow conditions are expected during winter months.
