Job Summary

Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) supports the nursing team in implementing patient care plans, including activities of daily living, education, recreation, and transportation. The C.N.A reports to the RN/LPN team leader and maintains patient confidentiality and compliance with Covenant Health policies.

• Assist with activities of daily living: feeding, bathing, ambulating, skin care.
• Provide effective listening support to residents and families.
• Take initial vital signs and provide weights to nursing staff.
• Report changes in vital signs promptly to the supervisor/charge nurse.
• Follow universal precautions procedures.
• Record resident intake and output per unit standards and physician orders.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information and support resident rights.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team and maintain productive relationships.
• Act as a team player, courteous, diplomatic, and tactful with residents, families, and staff.
• Assist with orientation of patients/residents/families to unit and services.
• Deliver care promptly and accurately per the RN/LPN instructions and care plan.
• Exercise empathy, remain objective in difficult circumstances, and adapt flexibly as needed.
• Seek help and help develop solutions for problems.
• Passion for working with long‑term care residents and skilled rehabilitation patients.

• Must hold an active Maine C.N.A License.
