Registered Nurse (RN) - Charge Nurse, Long Term Care (LTC)

Job Summary:

As a Charge Nurse in a Long Term Care facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the nursing staff, managing patient care, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to residents. You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create individualized care plans, administer medication, and provide direct patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Supervise and coordinate the day‑to‑day activities of nursing staff.
  • Assess patient needs, develop care plans, and monitor patient progress.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
  • Provide direct patient care and assist residents with activities of daily living.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff development programs.
  • Handle emergencies and crisis situations effectively.
  • Promote a positive work environment and team collaboration.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Valid RN license in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in long‑term care or related setting.
  • BLS certification.
  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical‑thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Leadership and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Compassionate and patient‑centered approach to care.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
