Job Summary
Local Candidates Accepted - Will Receive $5 /hr Lower Local Rate. The Certified Nurse Assistant (C.N.A) assists staff members with and contributes to the implementation of the total resident/patient plan of care which includes activities of daily living (eating, dressing, personal care, toileting), education, recreation, and transportation in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards of the nursing department. The C.N.A is directly responsible to the RN/LPN team leader.
The C.N.A maintains resident/patient privacy and confidentiality and performs duties in compliance with BNRC s, A Member of Covenant Health, policies and procedures.
- Assist with all resident/patient routine activities of daily living including feeding, bathing, ambulating, and skin care.
- Take initial vital signs and provide weights to nursing staff in a timely manner.
- Report changes in vital signs or measurements promptly to the Supervisor/Charge Nurse.
- Follow procedures for Universal Precautions.
- Monitor and promptly record resident/patient intake and output in accordance with unit standards or physician orders.
- Assist with orientation of patient/resident/family to unit, facility and services.
- Provide additional care as directed by the RN/LPN.
- Demonstrate flexibility when needed and maintain objective stance in difficult circumstances, including interactions with demanding residents and patients.
- Seek help and assist in developing solutions for problems.
- Maintain a passion for working with long‑term care residents and skilled rehabilitation patients to provide excellent resident and patient care.
Must hold an active Maine C.N.A License.
