Staff Nurse - Cardiac Intensive Care Unit - 90450 at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center.

Location:

Bangor, ME. Work Type:
Full Time.

Work Schedule:

7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Exempt:
No. Sign On Bonus Available.

Summary

The Staff Nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides nursing care, adheres to the Maine Nurse Practice Act and Northern Light Health standards, and coordinates care with other health professionals. The nurse plans and evaluates nursing care for patients and families, using independent judgment in implementing care and supervising other qualified staff as delegated. The role addresses physical, spiritual, emotional, and educational needs of patients and families while coordinating the plan of care with the care team.

Responsibilities
  • Provides safe and effective patient care by using best practices during hand-off communication and when reporting patient care information; requests assistance from other staff as needed.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills in location, operation, and care of equipment.
Qualifications
  • Credentials:
    Required Registered Nurse
  • Education:

    Required High School Diploma/GED. Additional education and experience may be required according to work location.
  • Working Conditions:

    Lifting, moving and loading 30 to 50 pounds. Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
  • Competencies and

    Skills:

    BLS Required; patient-centered care; effective communication; collaboration and teamwork; professionalism; adaptability; safety and quality improvement awareness.
Other Information
  • Must demonstrate system values and integrate them into daily organizational practice.
  • Must actively support patient-centered care with sensitivity and respect for the diversity of human experience.
  • Must be able to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure and influence others appropriately.
  • Proficiency with essential clinical documentation and patient data management as required by unit standards.
