Job Summary:
The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) provides essential support in resident care, assisting with daily activities and ensuring safety and comfort in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role involves collaborating with healthcare team members to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to residents.
Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including feeding, bathing, dressing, toileting, and ambulation.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake, and output, reporting any changes promptly to nursing staff.
- Support residents’ personal care needs while maintaining confidentiality and respecting their dignity.
- Follow universal precautions and infection control procedures consistently.
- Contribute to the orientation of residents, families, and new staff members to the unit and available services.
- Provide additional care as directed by RN/LPN, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Qualifications:
- Hold an active Maine CNA license.
- Demonstrate effective communication and listening skills to support residents’ needs.
- Capable of taking vital signs and performing routine assessments.
- Show flexibility and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Ability to remain objective and empathetic in challenging situations.
- Comply with all safety protocols and confidentiality standards.
