Team Captain Footwear

Overview

Lead a dynamic retail team focused on delivering exceptional service through product knowledge and athlete engagement across footwear and apparel.

• Deliver outstanding athlete experiences by anticipating their needs and providing clear, accurate, and knowledgeable information about products and assortment.
• Uphold company merchandising and presentation standards by following established floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation, replenishment standards, and other visual‑merchandising guidelines.
• Promote and lead company programs, including customer loyalty program participation, warranty sales, and private‑label credit card enrollment.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager (SM) and Assistant Store Manager (ASM) to develop 30‑60‑90 day plans that support business priorities for assigned department(s).
• Assist in establishing working plans for operational initiatives, staffing, hiring needs, operational and merchandising sets, and other day‑to‑day activities in accordance with budgets and financial goals.
• Execute and adjust plans as needed, using independent judgment and analysis of plan effectiveness.
• Act as Head Coach when the sole leader, performing general store oversight including opening and closing procedures, front‑end and cash office functions, and teammate supervision.
• Communicate departmental goals and plans to direct reports on a daily/weekly basis and assign workload based on skill levels to maximize efficiencies.
• Monitor progress against plans and adjust store goals to ensure uninterrupted operations and athlete support while meeting payroll and financial objectives.
• Develop and adjust effective schedules for direct reports to meet athlete traffic demands and operational/merchandising initiatives.
• Build and lead a strong, effective team that delivers positive athlete experiences, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retaining teammates.
• Ensure all teammates receive proper training and provide coaching, feedback, development, recognition, and motivation throughout the teammate lifecycle.
• Handle performance management, including annual reviews, promotional recommendations, and accountability for compliance with policies and procedures, including termination recommendations.
• Create an inclusive store environment where all teammates and athletes are welcomed and treated with respect.
• Adhere to and enforce safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, as well as applicable laws and guidelines.
• Hold teammates accountable for meeting performance expectations and compliance with company policies.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience.
• Previous retail or customer‑facing experience required.
• Previous people‑leadership experience preferred.

Targeted Pay Range: $49,500.00 – $63,500.00, based on a 38‑hour work week.
