Title: Security Associate

Reports to: Store Manager

Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Position Summary: The Security Associate helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment for employees, customers, and company property. This position serves as a visible deterrent to theft and unsafe behavior by monitoring store entrances, conducting regular patrols of the sales floor and parking lot, observing suspicious activity, documenting incidents, and promptly reporting concerns to store management and law enforcement when appropriate.

• Provide a highly visible security presence at the front entrance and throughout the store.
• Monitor front and side entrances to help deter merchandise push-outs and other theft-related activity.
• Conduct routine patrols of the sales floor, exterior walkways, and parking lot to identify safety and security concerns.
• Observe, document, and promptly report suspicious activity, theft, vandalism, or safety hazards to store management.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and security equipment to assist with loss prevention and incident investigations.
• Complete accurate incident reports and maintain daily activity logs.
• Assist with emergency situations by following company emergency procedures and directing customers and employees when necessary.
• Work closely with store management and law enforcement during investigations when appropriate.
• Promote a safe, professional, and customer-friendly environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Follow all company policies regarding theft deterrence, safety, and the appropriate level of response to security incidents.

• Maintain a visible presence to deter theft and promote a safe shopping environment.
• Protect company assets while delivering exceptional customer service.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
• Build positive relationships with store associates and management.
• Respond professionally to incidents with safety as the top priority.
• Accurately document and report all incidents in a timely manner.

This position requires professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to balance security responsibilities with outstanding customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.

• Previous experience in security, military, law enforcement, loss prevention, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• Strong observational skills, attention to detail and situational awareness.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Basic computer skills and the ability to operate surveillance and security systems.
• Ability to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periods and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR, First Aid, or other security-related certifications are a plus.
