We have an immediate opening for a Driller to help us grow our operation serving Maine and New England. In this position you will operate a geotechnical and environmental test boring rig based at our Bangor, Maine office. This is a full‑time position, primarily Monday‑Friday schedule.
Responsibilities- Operate a rotary test boring rig, drive a truck and trailer to haul the rig and equipment.
- Safely operate the drill rig, including soil boring and sampling, rock coring, measuring water levels, installing monitoring wells, installation of instrumentation, and basic maintenance.
- Perform basic maintenance on heavy equipment such as drill rigs, medium and heavy‑duty trucks, trailers, and ATVs.
- Prior experience operating a test boring rig or similar heavy equipment.
- Current Class A CDL license and acceptable driving record.
- Familiarity working with and around heavy equipment and operations.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy tooling and supplies up to 100 pounds and work outdoors in all seasons, temperatures, and conditions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Position will require regular travel to short‑term work sites throughout New England, with some overnight stays.
- Proficiency with basic math and measurements necessary for drilling and data collection.
- Strong reading and writing skills for recording observations, safety information, vehicle logs, and related tasks.
- Ability to operate a computer, tablet, and smartphone, including job‑related applications and software.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Massachusetts and/or Rhode Island hoisting license preferred.
