Self‑motivated, self‑directed, self‑organized Field Service Technician responsibilities involve the overall success of valve repair service operations in the field or in the shop. The role includes teardown, repair, new assembly, calibration, and diagnostics of all brands of safety pressure relief valves, isolation valves, actuators, and other automation equipment as needed, ensuring compliance with company and industry safety standards.

Responsible for:

• Success of field service operations
• Contribution to scope development
• Field PRV/SRV repairs and testing under NYNE’s VR program
• Field decisions to meet ASME code and NBIC requirements for repaired PRV/SRV components
• Field preparedness including rigging, scaffolding, welding, electrical, and machining as required

Responsible for:

• Identifying needed equipment, tooling, consumables, and parts for field operations
• Maintaining and improving performance of field equipment, tooling, trucks, trailers, and their contents
• Recommending investments in equipment and tooling to improve safety, efficiency, and competitive advantage

• Perform as‑found evaluation including pre‑testing, disassembly, sandblasting, cleaning, and photo, video, and documentation capture
• Conduct failure analysis and recommend repair scope—parts replacement, machining, welding, or replace‑repair—mandating decisions as required
• Execute repairs following specifications, drawings, sketches, and repair manuals, documenting steps with photo and video evidence
• Utilize testing and calibration equipment, adhering to department procedures and safety protocols
• Perform surface preparation and painting operations
• Execute inventory control activities: stocking, pulling parts, cycle counting, and documentation of transactions
• Interpret orders for stamping, name‑plate tagging, and digital asset tagging documentation
• Conduct final inspection per NYNE procedures and standards
• Box and ship repaired or installed parts, ensuring assets are protected and professionally presented
• Maintain housekeeping standards in line with 5S requirements and safety regulations
• Identify additional shop consumables and tooling required for day‑to‑day operations
• Responsible for maintenance of shop equipment and tooling

Must maintain documentation in real time at the field or shop:

• Shop repair/field service documentation

• Repair reports/field service summaries
• Timecards by customer asset and activity
• Mandatory customer portal documentation management
• Asset tagging and management
• Pre‑onsite checklists and mandatory safety documentation
