We’re seeking a Master Electrician to join our team at the Bangor Air National Guard Base. This is
an opportunity to work on a wide variety of systems where your expertise directly supports military
readiness and emergency response in Maine.

As part of the Department of Defense, Veterans’ and Emergency Management (DVEM) you’ll play a vital role in keeping over 550,000 sq. ft. of facilities and 49 buildings powered, safe, and fully operational. You’ll support the 101st Air Refueling Wing in Bangor and two additional units in South Portland.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical systems and equipment across multiple sites.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and respond to service calls, including scheduled and emergency repairs.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete new installations and ongoing facilityupgrades.

Successful Candidates will have:

  • Experience in commercial electrical settings, including both old and new construction and materials, with an understanding of how they relate to the construction process
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics for hooking up pumps, motors,and electric valves to meet construction standards.

Physical Aspects of the Role:

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. and carrying loads up to 75 feet.
  • Climbing ladders and working in confined spaces, including ceilings and underground tanks.
  • Bending, reaching, and moving around equipment being serviced.
  • Working both independently and as part of a team in varied physical settings.

Minimum Qualifications
Current Master Electrician’s License, as issued by the Electrician’s Examining Board

Licensing/registration/certification requirements: (These must be met by all employee prior to
attaining permanent status in this class).

Master Electrician’s license as issued by the Electrician’s Examining Board. Some positions may require a Certificate of Special Training in High Voltage work. Some positions may require a State of Maine Class C motor vehicle operator’s license.
