Project Description

Gwynedd Council have commissioned a Housing First project to operate across the county of Gwynedd, working with individuals and couples who are homeless and have complex needs such as mental health, substance use and criminal offending history. Housing First is based on the principle that people with chronic housing and support needs should be offered independent and permanent housing first with support built around their needs, rather than expecting people to access hostels or temporary accommodation and prove their housing ‘readiness’ before securing a permanent home.

Mae Cyngor Gwynedd wedi comisiynu prosiect Tai yn Gyntaf i weithredu ar draws Gwynedd, gan weithio gydag unigolion a chyplau sy’n ddigartref ac sydd ag anghenion cymhleth megis iechyd meddwl, defnyddio sylweddau a hanes o droseddu. Mae Tai yn Gyntaf yn seiliedig ar yr egwyddor y dylai pobl ag anghenion tai a chymorth cronig gael cynnig tai annibynnol a pharhaol yn gyntaf gyda chefnogaeth i’w hanghenion, yn hytrach na disgwyl i bobl gael gafael ar hostelau neu lety dros dro a phrofi eu bod yn ‘barod’ i gael llety cyn cael cartref parhaol.
